Washington Coast

Sometimes you don’t luck out with the weather living in Washington State.  Yesterdays weather was a dream come true to spend a winter’s day on the coast.  I did just fine wearing only a vest.  Today…not so much.  Gore-tex was essential at Ocean Shores today.  This is the first time I opened the door to my truck and Asia wasn’t eager to get out due to the wind and rain.

Olympic National Park

Discovering Washington keeps getting better! Asia and I took a road trip this weekend to our very own Olympic National park. We saw and touched the largest Spruce tree in the world, climbed one heck of a huge Cedar tree and hung out all afternoon at Ruby beach until sunset. For lunch we had a picnic at Lake Quinaunt, so beautiful!

I was zooming around on the back streets of West Seattle to be able to catch this sunset. Asia was wondering why I was in such a rush. This is why.

 

North Cascades

I have decided to discover what’s right underneath my nose… Washington State.  Asia and I made our way across Hwy. 20 to the North Cascades.  We hiked Lake Ann which was short and sweet to break up the driving.  We stayed at the Rolling Huts in Mazama and also checked out Winthrop one afternoon.  On Saturday I was able to do one of my most favorite things; ride horses.  It rained off and on but that wasn’t going to stop me.  It was worth it with all the rainbows that accompanied us.  The North Cascades hikes are endless so I plan on going back next summer or Fall.

The Uninhibited Urbanite

When asked to be apart of artist Cheryl King’s FACE project… you say yes!  Cheryl King is an artist who came up with a fabulous idea that incorporates both painting and photography.  Other than my passion for dogs and art, fashion and shoes are up there as well.  Cheryl captured my love for shopping downtown and I’m proud to be apart of her FACE project.

Anja’s Painting

A long term client of mine of seven years (Shelly Rieger) asked me to do a commission painting of her amazing German Shorthaired Pointer (Anja).  What’s so great about this is that I know Anja so well it was just as fun for me to paint it as for Shelly to have received it.  I made a special delivery this evening for Shelly and Anja to see the final product.  As you see in the picture, Anja approved it!

Cannon Beach

I went to Cannon Beach this weekend with my friend Rita who I’ve walked her dogs for 6 years.  Bebe and Bella joined us and they tripled the fun!  Saturday was in the 70′s and Sunday morning we got beautiful overcast skies that makes the NW beaches what they are.  We had the best time and plan to go back.

My mother

I smile every time I see this picture of my mother with her dogs in Mexico.  I’m not sure but I think it was taken in the late 50′s.  I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree after all.

New kids on the block

I am thrilled to add 4 new dogs to the dog park group!  Top to bottom pictures:  HARLEY the Ausi, VELCRO the Vizsla, LEROY the Pit and TUCK the Ausi.  I love them all and am so happy to have them with us!
